The Operator 2 is responsible for safely and efficiently operating dredging systems, excavators, and other heavy machinery in support of daily production and project goals. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in dynamic field environments. The ideal candidate is committed to safety, operational efficiency, and ongoing skill development.
Job Details
- Operate dredging equipment, excavators, dozers, and other mining equipment in support of daily production goals.
- Interpret site plans and execute project objectives with minimal supervision.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs while maintaining accurate equipment logs and shift documentation.
- Coordinate with the production crew to maintain consistent material flow and enforce company safety protocols.
- This is a travel-heavy position following a typical rotation of 2 weeks on / 1 week off. Willingness to travel extensively is required.
- MSHA Certification required — on-the-job certification provided.
- Must demonstrate strong problem-solving ability and operational leadership in the field.
Candidate must be honest, hardworking, and drug-free with a valid driver’s license. Must be a team player capable of working independently, taking direction, and prioritizing work efficiently. 2–4 years of heavy equipment operating experience required. Experience in dredging or mining and Heavy Equipment Certification preferred.
