The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment and vehicles used in dredging and excavation projects. This includes everything from trucks and trailers to excavators, dredges, and barge-mounted systems. The ideal candidate is skilled in troubleshooting diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components and can perform both preventative and emergency repairs in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Job Details
- Work is mainly based at the shop location but must be willing to travel when needed to the job site to complete a project.
- Must have excellent fabricating skills.
Machining background and mechanic skills definitely a plus. - Must possess troubleshooting skills, the ability to visualize how to build something and be able to communicate with other crew members and our suppliers independently to gain additional knowledge needed to complete a project when necessary.
- The ability to work independently and get the job done without constant supervision is a must.
Candidate must be honest, hardworking, drug-free, have a driver’s license, a team player but capable of working alone. Must be able to take direction and then prioritize the work in an efficient and independent manner.
